New Stuff before the New Year

When shopping for clothes, it is sometimes difficult to pick out items that the rest of the world would consider "stylish" or "in." Well, we have found the perfect solution for all of those stressful decisions! A Well shirt, of course! This shirt will undoubtedly secure your status in the fashion world. And, it is a great Christmas gift!

The shirt is charcoal grey with a description of the discovery of coffee on the back. This history is related to our specially made, in-house regular coffee. The shirts are $15 were designed by our very own Traci Parrish.
We also have games (not for sale) available for customer use. So...in case you are bored at home and want something to do, or a heavy blizzard blows in while you are at our store and you can't leave...we have some fun games to pass the time. (Pictured: Sequence, Rummikub, Bingo, Pictionary, Taboo, Mad Gab, Sorry, Uno Dominos, Time: The Game, and Malarky.)

Red is in the Air

Red is the most popular color around The Well these days. And, of course, it is Santa's color of choice as well. He wore it to our Breakfast With Santa event this morning and enjoyed some cookies with the kids.

Excitement was in the air as kids sat on Santa's lap and revealed their Christmas wish lists. Here are just a few of them that were lucky enough to visit the man with the jolly laugh all the presents.

Walgreens took pictures of each child, and those pictures can be picked up from their store tomorrow, December 20.

Last Thursday, the Childrens Arts Council Choir brought the holiday cheer with a few delightful melodies.

A Latte of Fun

Every Christmas, kids (of all ages) make their wish lists to Santa and hope they get what is on the top of their list. And even if you don't make an tangible list, there is still that hope that "Santa" would get you precisely what you were hoping for.

Well, what if you could talk to the man himself in person?

Come to our "Breakfast with Santa" event on December 19 and you may have a chance to do just that. More details are coming soon!

On a more different note, if you like lattes and art, come in while our friend Brenna is working and see what kind of frothy creation she can make for you! This is just a bit of her handiwork. (And feel free to ask our other employees to take a whirl at it...you might be surprised at what you find on the top of your drink.)

Disclaimer: As we practice our latte art skills, an eye for a more "interpretive art" may be needed in order to identify our objects.

(This is clearly not the case here, however, with Mr. Easter Bunny visiting us several months early!)

In case you forget what a cup of coffee looks like, Brenna wanted to paint you a picture from the bird's eye view.

And finally, for the chocolate lovers, this frothy star will undoubtedly satisfy your most inner sweet tooth.

If you are still looking for that perfect gift, we still have wonderful french presses, coffees, and mulling spices for your loved ones.

Finally, we would like to make a quick shout out to Jenny's mom! Thanks for reading and we hope you enjoy reading these posts as we do writing them!

A Brand New Holiday Season

Now that construction is a thing of the past, and we have had a moment to breathe (however short or small it may have been) it is time for us to move right on into the holiday season! The air is getting colder and we already have "decked our halls" with Christmas trees. (No snowmen were harmed in the making of this blog.)

Our new location has given us extra space to spread out and display our new holiday products. Here is our "coffee tree" which has many ornaments related to the addicting and delicious beverage.

This is just one of the ornaments on the tree. Others include
Java and Espresso. (These ornaments are not edible...however aesthetically pleasing they may appear.)

We also have some new Christmas CD's in, including Chris Tomlin's "Glory in the Highest," Big Daddy Weave's "Christ is Home," and Mark Masri's "Christmas is...." Traci says that "these will help everyone spread the holiday cheer."

Here are just a few books that Jessica suggests for Holiday gifts and enjoyment: "The Unfinished Gift" by Dan Walsh, "The Sound of Sleigh Bells" by Cindy Woodsmall for adults, and "O Little Town of Bethlehem" (a book that plays music), and "Memories of the Angel" which tells of God's never ending love.

The New Digs

Ever since our big move on Monday, we have received many comments about our new digs. Everything is more open, fresh, and mellow.
Here is the final look of the sign outside.

We are open for business!

We've also added a sign that hangs from the awning that can be seen by people walking on the sidewalk.

This is the view you would see if you walked in the store and looked to your right.

This is what you would see coming straight in. The stage looks cozy with a decorative Christmas tree. (Last night we had our first concert on this stage.)

The coffee shop counter with new chalkboard menus.

To the right, past the green wall pictured above, is the area where customers can refill their coffee and tea.

These are owr new punchcards. They are double-sided; on one side we can keep track of the coffee/tea purchases, and on the other, specialty drinks.

Here is a look towards the front of the store. The front door is behind the stone hearth.

In the back we have an L-shaped children's area.

Along with a Christmas section.

Customers have already used the conference room in the very back. It is open to Bible studies, meetings, or any other sort of customer need.

Day 92: Moving Day

The day has finally come for us to move back into our original space! It seemed like the day would never come, but now we have found ourselves moving like madmen in order to get things ready-for-business within 24 hours. Here, you can see that we have changed our sign to "Body & Soul" to "The Well."

The guys have been busy finishing up their work. Here they can be seen polishing the floor.

The girls have been working to get all the books onto the shelves. Every book must be entered into a new computer system before this can happen.

Supplies are being moved into the new coffee shop area.

Chairs and tables have been moved to the stage area for extra seating.

This picture shows the art that Traci painted on the front of the coffee shop counter.

Furniture is still coming in, but here are a few that will be available for customers.
These were taken in the early afternoon, and construction will continue throughout the day. Final pictures will be uploaded as soon as possible. Thank you for following our progress! (And a special shout out to Shawn from Jerry!)

Day 81

As the sun sets in the evening sky and paints the dusty clouds orange, the construction workers can still be heard plugging away next door. But they can still see the fall color, for it can be also found inside our building. Here it can be seen above the stage.

And by the bathrooms.

The pillars are being repainted various colors of brown.

The counter tops have been put in in the coffee shop area, along with the light fixtures that hung in the old Hearth Room area.

These are the bookshelves that will eventually be put up in the bookstore area.

Granite has been placed in front of the fireplace.

Carpet has been placed in some areas. This includes an area which will be open to the public for various types of meetings.

Day 74

In order to answer the most recent and popular question...no, we are not "stalling" on the construction on the bathrooms.
Ok, so that that question has in fact NOT come up recently. However, it seemed a fitting and appropriate introduction for a blog update beginning with the picture of the stalls in the women's bathroom to the left. Our hope is that that brought you at least a little chuckle for the day.

This is a view of the other side of the bathroom.

The guys continue to add more stone in various locations. The stone on the bottom of these pillars (near the coffee shop area) match nicely with the stone by the fireplace.

These pillars are towards the back of the store.

As you can see, a green color (that matches the bathroom) has been added to the coffee shop area. This is one of the main splashes of the rainbow that will be a part of the new building.

The counter tops are being put in as well. They are grey-black color.

Although it is hard to see in this picture, an orange color is being put above the stage area. This is another theme color that will be implemented.
